Tour a local sake brewery and do a sake tasting.
Since its establishment in 1787 (the seventh year of the Tenmei era), this sake brewery has been using buildings erected in the Edo period. Seven of these were designated tangible cultural properties in Japan in 2002 and include a bottling plant, cellar, and preparatory warehouse from the Edo period and a storehouse from the Taisho period.
In addition to product sales, we offer brewery tours and sake tasting throughout the year. (Please avoid visiting the brewery by car) The chief brewer (called “Toji” in Japanese)and his staff (called “Kurako” in Japanese) will kindly provide tours of the sake making process and sake facilities. Tours take about 30 minutes. Look forward to being enchanted by the historied buildings and having your spirits lifted with some great sake.
