Tsutaya (the main shop of Debata) has been a confectioner since 1502. We were entrusted with making confectionery for the Hirado Castle, and “casdose” is still popular today. Another popular traditional treat from the Goto Islands of Nagasaki is “Kankoro Mochi." Kankoro mochi is a sweet and nostalgic treat made from sweet potato and glutinous rice. Nagasaki is also famous for its seafood delicacies and Arita and Hasami pottery, which can be viewed and purchased.
