Mikawachi

A town of pottery with more than four hundred years of history.

"Sarayama" refers to the production area of ceramics in Kyushu district. Mikawachi Sarayama started with the potteries in three villages: Mikawachi, Enaga, and Kihara. Today, Mikawachi Sarayama has many different kilns inheriting the Mikawachi-yaki tradition.
