It was around 1950 when the American food culture "Hamburger" was brought in Sasebo for the first time. At the start, they prepared hamburgers from the recipe of US navy. There have been many hamburger shops, mainly in the town of the bars for foreigners around the base. Ever since, the taste of hamburger has been arranged into "Sasebo traditional taste".
The handmade "Sasebo traditional tasate" has been taken over in the shops "SASEBO".
Kujukushima oyster is filled with rich earth nutrient, coming from the complicated shoreline approached by mountains and the numerous islands in the sea. The shell is somewhat small but it is filled with rich shellfish, having springy texture and very rich taste.
